This silk square is the result of the final collaboration between painter Alain Thomas and Maison Malfroy. Aligned with our collection's Mexican-inspired theme, we chose to honor the Quetzal in our silk square. This bird, native to the neotropical regions of Central America, gets its name from the Nahuatl language, where Quetzalli means "great green feather." It also appears in Mexican mythology, as it is one of the forms taken by the god Quetzalcoatl, the "Feathered Serpent."

The dimensions of the silk square are 90×90 cm. It can be worn in various ways: as a front-pointed scarf, as a necktie, as a snood, in your hair, or simply tied to a handbag.

The Malfroy silk square is the quintessential silk scarf. Made from high-quality silk twill and printed with the utmost care, it is an exceptional accessory. The vibrancy of the colors, the softness of the silk, and the hand-finished detailing make it unique and are true markers of its premium quality.

Hand-rolled hem: a refined French finish
Made by hand, the rolling technique is a true craftsmanship. The seamstress rolls the edge of the fabric under her fingers until a tight, firm roll is formed that will maintain flexibility and volume. A stitch secures the fabric, making it invisible. The rolled edge frames the design and enhances the scarf. A silk square cherished by both women and men.

Silk: a noble fabric for a silk square
Maison Malfroy selects superior quality silk for you. Light and soft, silk provides freshness in summer and warmth in winter. Its drape and shine enhance the colors of our patterns. Its hypoallergenic and antibacterial properties will protect your skin. Silk twill, also known as silk serge, is a type of weave that creates distinctive diagonal lines. The twill weave makes it more resistant to wear and tear than other types of silk. It is a luxurious silk fabric with exceptional properties. Silk twill can vary in weight, ranging from light to medium. Did you know? Silk uses your body heat to warm up and then releases that heat back onto your body.
