Having been involved for several generations in the silk trade in Lyon — the French capital of silk since 1536 — André Malfroy and Jean Million founded their silk company in 1939. They specialize in the printing of silk scarves, a rarity at the time.

Silk is a precious natural material that requires both precision and patience. The artisan must strike the right balance between intense colors and the finesse of the design. At Malfroy, we take it a step further, ensuring that the reverse side is almost as vibrant as the front. From Grace Kelly to Brigitte Bardot
As early as the 1950s, Henri Malfroy set out to bring Malfroy scarves to the international stage. Women around the world embraced the elegance of silk scarves. One of the first bestsellers was a brightly colored printed silk chiffon, a testament to our unique mastery of color. In 1977, Malfroy took part in the very first French Fashion Fair in Tokyo.
